State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak called upon all financial institutions, including banks, to use the “Interoperable Digital Transaction Platform (IDTP)” in order to check irregularities, costs and harassment in financial sector.
“The country’s largest mobile wallet bKash has already started inter- digital transactions aimed at bringing down irregularities, costs and harassment in financial sector…thus, all financial institutions, including banks should join the IDTP platform,” he said.
The state minister as the chief guest was speaking at a press conference titled ‘Living No Micro-Merchants behind in the Digital Era in Bangladesh’ organised by the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) at a city hotel.
The credit rating and scoring facilities of IDTP would help small entrepreneurs to get loan smoothly.
A partnership agreement is going to be signed between Sheba.xyz and ICT startup Bangladesh Company this month, he said, adding that through ‘Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)’ solution, small and medium enterprises at the marginal level will get loan facility without any deposit.
Financial Institutions Division Senior Secretary of Finance Ministry Md Ashadul Islam and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bangladesh’s Resident Representative Sudipta Mukherjee attended the conference as special guests.
