India has expressed interest in working with Bangladesh to establish an inter-operative digital transaction platform (IDTP) for cyber security and financial transactions between the two countries, in addition to setting up a Bangladesh-India Digital Editainment Center. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the proposal for implementation of bilateral IDTP has already been sent to the Ministry of Planning.
The Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami expressed this interest during a meeting with State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak at the meeting room of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Authority at ICT Tower in Agargaon on Monday.
The meeting discussed in detail the latest progress of ongoing projects with the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority. The meeting was chaired by Varna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director, Hi-Tech Park Authority.
The meeting highlighted the progress of activities of high-tech parks. At the same time, an agreement was reached to set up Bangladesh-India
Education Centers in 64 districts of the country and to launch a startup exchange program. The meeting was also attended by NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department and concerned officials of ICT Department and Hi-Tech Park.
He also thanked the Indian Ambassador for the positive experience of his recent visit to Agartala and said that it was time for mutual cooperation. I want the exchange of knowledge and experience in the ICT sector of both the countries to increase further in the future. The partnership will be even stronger.
He further said that in establishing Smart Bangladesh, Bangladesh as a friendly country needs to further enhance its communication with India in the field of software communication and digital transactions and startups and education on the basis of mutual cooperation.
On the other hand, Indian Ambassador Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy said that to further strengthen the existing cordial relationship between us, we want to go a long way in working with Bangladesh on future technologies like startups, cyber security and interactive digital payment systems and commercially successful solutions.
